The Big 2-8

Well, it is birthday week again! This may have been the 2nd best one ever! (The first will always be the inaugural event of course!)  Laila and I had so much fun partying on our birthdays!  For my birthday I got to fail a math final. No worries, blog buddies, I still passed my class.  Then as a special treat for being done with math I took myself to Panera.  I was able to read a magazine and sit by myself for at LEAST 30 minutes.  It was delightful.

After that wonderful experience I was off to get a mani/pedi courtesy of my wonderful husband.  It was an interesting experience.  It felt wonderful but the ambience of the salon was a bit off.  There was no Entertainment Tonight on the flatscreens, no E! Hollywood news.  Instead I got to watch the HBO movie about Jack Kevorkian starring Al Pacino.  What a relaxing way to spend an afternoon while getting your nails done.  🙂

Then I went to get my baby girl and we headed home for a nap.  She napped and I argued with Steve about going out that night.  In the end he won, and I hopped in the shower to get ready to meet him downtown for a movie and dinner.  We saw Inception.  If you haven’t seen it, g. o. now.  It was definitely the best movie of the summer. (Not that there is a whole lot of competition).

We had a great time at the movie and then we headed downstairs to the ShoutHouse for something to eat and some entertainment.  It was a great time and we even got to use our $25 restaurants.com gift certificate.  (Check it out if you have never been there- great deal).  I got the $25 gift certificate for $2.  Yes, TWO dollars.  A.w.e.s.o.m.e.

It had been a LONG time since Steve and I spent that much time alone.  I don’t even remember the last time actually.  Well, that isn’t true we did spend like 4 days alone but he was drug induced from his tonsillectomy.  I don’t think that qualifies as quality time.

I think that 28 is going to be a great year.  27 had its ups and downs and I am thankful to have made it to the other side.  Here is to another happy, healthy year for us all!
